What are the performance differences between the devices?

The maximum delivery rate for cold-stored blood (i.e., 4°C input) for most configurations is defined in the IFU as 180mL/min. The only exception is the Warrior lite with the small (aka “lite”) battery, which supports a delivery rate of 170mL/min. Also worth noting that the Warrior/Warrior EXTREME configurations delivered 200mL/min in an independent testing. Finally, it is reasonable to expect a higher delivery rate for the Warrior AC and Warrior AC Station configurations.

The delivery rates of the various configurations at room temperature fluid input (i.e., 20°C input) are as follows:

  • Warrior lite (lite battery): up to 250mL/min
  • Warrior lite with Extra Power battery: up to 270mL/min
  • Warrior lite AC: up to 270mL/min
  • Warrior lite Hybrid: up to 250/270mL/min (lite/Extra Power battery and AC Power Supply module)
  • Warrior & Warrior EXTREME: up to 290mL/min
  • Warrior AC: up to 500mL/min
  • Warrior AC Station: up to 500mL/min
  • Warrior Hybrid: up to 290/500mL/min (battery/AC Power Supply module)

If the flow rates exceed the capacity of the system, the system will continue warming to the best of its capabilities yet set temperature may not be reached. In such a case, appropriate indication will be provided to the user.

Finally, it should be noted that several additional factors may impact delivery rate, such as ambient temperature, fluid input temperature, battery capacity, and more.
